Kelly Henry

Principal

Kelly Henry specializes in developing strategic public acceptance programs in support of client activities, particularly those involving sensitive and potentially controversial environmental issues. Kelly has more than 15 years experience supporting the investigation and remediation of manufactured gas plant (MGP) sites throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She currently serves as community liaison for more than 20 sites, many of which are in high-visibility locations. In addition to strategic planning, her competencies include risk and crisis communications, communications assessments and audits, training and Community Advisory Panel (CAP) facilitation.

Since 1988, she has been providing these specialized public affairs services to clients in the fields of public utilities, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, mining, and solid and hazardous waste management.

She has developed and implemented community relations and public affairs programs for AGL Resources/Elizabethtown Gas, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Colonial Pipeline, Comcast, DSM, Days Cove Reclamation, DuPont, FirstEnergy/Jersey Central Power & Light, Ferrero USA, Gerdau Ameristeel, Givaudan-Roure, Johnson & Johnson, Kraft Foods, New Jersey Natural Gas, PECO Energy, PPL, Praxair, Public Service Electric & Gas, Rhone-Poulenc Ag, Solutia, Union Carbide and Vulcan Materials.

A 1988 graduate of Bucknell University, Kelly has focused her career on managing environmental public affairs issues. In the early 1990s, she spent four years with Holt & Ross, where she was instrumental to the development and management of a 10-year program for Union Carbide and Praxair. She then worked for six years at Environmental Resources Management (ERM), a global environmental science and engineering company, supporting the development and growth of their public relations group. While there, she gained significant experience working with the electric and gas utility industries, primarily supporting public acceptance and local, state and federal permitting of proposed facilities and large-scale remediation projects. Kelly returned to Ross Public Affairs Group in 1999 as Vice President. She became partner of Henry & Germann Public Affairs in June 2011.

Kelly has gained industry recognition for her expertise. She currently serves on the Remedial Priority Score (RPS) System Policy Stakeholder Committee at New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and has presented at communications seminars for the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance, American Association of Textile Manufacturers, American Association of Port Authorities, Public Relations Society of America and the Chemistry Council of New Jersey.
